Biography

As a physiotherapist I believe in holistic approach when treating an individual patient/ client. I enjoy being both creative and applying evidence based treatment modalities in my work in order to accelerate my patient's recovery, with the ultimate aim of having them return to healthy normal life, work or sports activities.

I have had the opportunity to work in neurological, orthopaedic, geriatrics, post stroke and sports physiotherapy settings. Additionally, I have worked as a rehabilitation instructor in the metropolitan Helsinki, Finland. I highly appreciate this experience as it has broadened not only my clinical reasoning but it has also enhanced my holistic perception of patient care.

I am a strong advocate of intensive interdisciplinary rehabilitation because I believe it enriches our clinical reasoning base in patient care. I strive to help my patients achieve their goals by optimizing their functional ability and decreasing their reliance on pain relieving medication.

I enjoy helping my clients achieve their full potential and I'm committed to providing the best fitting advice and exercise scheme.

I have practiced various types of sports including kickboxing myself, and competed in short putt, hammer and later body building at provincial and national level in my homeland, Kenya. I still enjoy strength training, cycling and playing football recreationally.

I have always been intrigued by the interrelation of physiotherapy and sports, which I believe are intertwined as they both embrace biomechanics of human movement during normal and pathological ambulation. Current research in medicine and sports has enhanced our critical and clinical thinking in both domains. I follow up on latest research literature in order to further develop myself professionally - and to be able to better serve my patients/ clients.
